Common questions about ZOURCE™ (ZRC) are listed below, but if you need any further answers please click here to get in touch.
Can I install and run ZRC within my existing web architecture?
Yes. ZRC is actually designed to be installed along with your application in a 'zrc' directory ... however, any directory will do.
Can I use a single ZRC installation to manage more than one database or web-application?
No ... at least not yet. Using ZRC to manage multiple web-applications from a single point would add a level of complexity for end-users, and we're not sure whether that's a good idea. ZRC's purpose is to be easy to use, and usually to be installed as part of your web-application - so it makes sense for us to keep it a single database application for the moment. That said ... if you need a multi-database version, we'd love to hear about it.
How do I set up the ZRC database?
The ZRC database tables can be installed (using a supplied SQL script) into your existing schema (all tables are prefixed 'ZRC') - or as a new database.
Can I add new ZOURCEcode™ commands?
Tricky, but possible - as long as you've licensed the Enterprise version of ZRC. The Enterprise version includes all source code, so as long as you don't make modifications and re-sell the product, please feel free to modify the ZOURCEengine™ to include new commands ... or alter the way it works within your application.
What type of output can ZRC create?
Anything that can be written to a directory - so in theory, even graphic files could be created ... as long as someone has designed the templates. That part is down to you as a developer :)
Can you help me set up and write my ZRC application?
We'd love to help you set up...but it's difficult to create web-forms / write templates etc. for you, without getting to know about your application, and database structures intimately. Your ZOURCE license includes a number of hours of 'hands-on' technical help and support (please see 'LICENSING' for more information) - but anything more, and we would have to formalise a development agreement.
